More Upgrades at Gwinnett LZU

LZU Runway

A paving project will soon increase the load bearing surface of runways 7/25 to accommodate heavy tandem wheel aircraft. This project scheduled for August 2020 will also remedy the “dip” midcourse on the runways allowing for smoother takeoff and rollout of the 6000’ where Air Harbor is located. Blue skies ahead with this new and longer lasting resurface project.

Upgrades at LZU

In early January 2014 significant improvements and upgrades were made that benefit Air Harbor tenants and LZU. The entire length of Taxiway W was resurfaced and striped. This included a hold short line at the entrance of Air Harbor defining the non movement area. Additionally, LED taxi lights were installed that ROCK!….especially for us older pilots with declining eyesight. Again the uniformity and illumination of this system is far superior and more reliable. Be sure to speak with ground before crossing the hatch line and as always, safe flights.
